Quick Note on Practice Reports + Finance/Travel Updates

You’ll notice that yesterday, October 19th, I finally published the Practice Report for July!

It was definitely a monkey on my back—I wanted to get this info out, and yet there was so much going on.

I worked on it slowly over the last few weeks so that I could eventually “ship it” and get this project off my back.

Which leads me to my next points…

1) I’m tired of tracking my life like this.

2) These reports take too damn long to complete!

So, I’ve made an executive decision: July 2012 will be the last Practice Report.

I’m happy with how the project went, and enjoy that there are 12 months worth of reports, so you can see how I did over the course of a year. Heck—I can go back and look, too!

I know I learned quite a bit by watching my life so closely, and I definitely got clearer on what worked for me, when it came to nutrition, sleep, productivity, etc.

Similarly, with the Finance and Travel Updates, the most recent one I published was also for July (how coincidental!).

These were initially part of the Practice Reports and only because this also took a while to compile, I decided to break the reports up to make my life easier.

Well, I’m making my life even easier: NO MORE of these reports, either! :)

Of course I’m still tracking my finances, and I do want to share all the cool places I’m spending my money (to share where and how I’m eating, traveling, and the like), but I’d like to find a way that is more fun and doesn’t take as much time!

Not to mention (and this is a bit of the immature ego talkin’), but I really don’t know if anyone reads—or even cares!—about these reports.

So, while it’s been an interesting experiment, I think it’s time for me to focus on other ways to share my gifts and life data!

I’ll share that in my mind, this was not a quick decision: there was guilt, disappointment, and a sense of failure and obligation. I felt like I had to keep doing this, like I owed it to someone, because I had been doing them!

Yeah, good times—until I realized, I can do WHATEVER I want with my life, and certainly with my blog! haha… :)

This has been a POWERFUL lesson to remember as I create this show…it’s always about thinking, “what is my ideal? what would I LOVE to do?,” and then go in that direction!

Why settle for anything less? Why not go 100% in the direction of my dreams?

Oh—and if in the future, you (the readers) ever start clamoring for reports like these again, or I’m feeling particularly inspired to invest my time in this direction, well then you might just see these posts re-emerge—like a phoenix from the ashes!

If you’d like to check out the complete archive of Practice Reports and Travel/Finance updates, you can find them all here!
