WHY I’m living like a nomad?
WHY I’ve chosen to be healthy on the road?
and WHY I’m doing the work I am?
You’re in luck. :)
As you can tell, there is a LOT I could say on this subject.
(I didn’t even get into the fact that most medical doctors barely receive nutrition education!!! (check out this article and study from the NY Times) No wonder they’re prescribing pills and surgeries over fruits and vegetables—they don’t know either!! But I digress… :)
In short, here’s my WHY:
I want to inspire and empower others to live their greatest and healthiest lives every day, everywhere they go!
I’ve now seen and experienced that it’s possible to be healthy on the go, and I want to share that!
This is why I’m starting a show, it’s why I continue to build this site, and it’s why I have some other projects in the works… :)
The system is f*cking broken. :)
It’s about understanding that there IS an alternative: you don’t have to compromise on your health and your values! You don’t have to just do what everyone else is, or what your doctor says to, or even buy what the commercials tell you to!
I’m going to do what I can to spread information and education so that people can change their lives through natural, healthy means!
We ALL have the ability to do so! It just takes time, determination, and commitment!
I go out on the road to learn and discover, and together, we bring it home.
Everything I’m coming across, to me, it’s about how can I help you integrate that into your everyday life.
How can I help you bring this information and these practices back to your home, your kitchen, your family, and your community?

I know I have something to offer those looking to create and lead a healthier life!
So while I travel regularly, that’s not a requirement to become healthier! :)
It’s about starting this work at HOME and then if I find out, “oh, you also need support when you travel? I can absolutely help with that!” :)

By the way, if you’d like to “start with WHY” in your own life and work, I highly encourage you to check out Simon Sinek’s TED Talk (“How Great Leaders Inspire Action”), his book, and his site for more info.
But to keep it really simple, you can also just grab your journal and answer these questions (from the book):
- What is your purpose, cause, or belief?
- WHY does your company exist?
- WHY do you get out of bed every morning?
- And WHY should anyone care?
(These were the questions that really got my brain humming!)
And here’s an amazing quote from Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Super Immunity—more directly speaking to the insanity of our current medical system:
“Most of what doctors do to treat today’s diseases does little to extend human lifespan; in the majority of cases, it is almost worthless. Why so? Because the drugs prescribed by doctors encourage patients’ risky life-style behaviors and self-destructive eating choices to continue; they give patients “permission” to continue poor behaviors because they mask the symptoms of disease. The symptoms are not the actual pathology (or damage); they are just markers that the pathology has developed. Treating the symptoms does not halt the advancing pathology, which in all likelihood will continue to worsen. That “solution” is akin to your mechanic’s “fixing” the flashing oil light on your car’s dashboard by simply snipping the wire to the light. If today’s symptom-suppressing medications were not available, more effective lifestyle modifications could be insisted on by physicians and advisors in authority and thus would more likely be implemented by their patients and the general population.”
So instead of really getting clear on WHY and WHAT is going on, we’re simply in a culture and system where we only treat the symptoms, and really encourage individuals to continue on with their risky and self-destructive behaviors!
Finally, thanks to my buddy Jacob for really reminding me the value of this work. I feel like my new mantra is his voice in my head saying, “start with why, start with why, start with why….” Ha!
