During my recent five-week stay in and around NYC, I had the great pleasure to meet and chat with a travel-hound and dog-lover (oh yes – puns!), Marnie.
Aside from many years in the corporate and marketing world, Marnie is also an avid runner, with dozens of medals from marathons around the country; in fact, two days after we spoke, she was participating in a half-marathon around Manhattan, finishing with a personal best!
We sat down in Washington Square Park on a gorgeous Friday evening – it was an unusually warm March day, and all the New Yorkers were treating it like the middle of summer!
What we cover:
- Taking control of your life
- Being in charge of your own happiness
- Her self-declared “sabbatical”
- Finding ways to travel even when you’re not
It was at dusk, so it starts to get a little dark out. The sound and conversation are great, though, so stick around!
What did you think of the chat with Marnie? How can you take a step towards your own happiness?
For more on what Marnie’s up to:
- Where the Day Takes You: seeing what happens when there’s no agenda
- Tales of the Lost Local: her exploration of the city she calls home: New York!
Sadly, the NY Pizza was not to be: the first restaurant’s service was slow (putting it nicely), and the second place had a 45-minute wait. We were starving by that point, so we popped around the corner and had an excellent asian/vegan meal at Gobo.
Bonus points if you can name any of the songs the saxophonist played in the background of the video! :-)
I’d love to hear your response to the (main) question above and any other comments you have.
Until next time,
