Moments of the Week – #24

A bunch of awesome moments from this week!

(have some of your own? to be featured in a future edition of MOW! :)

From production week for the show in LA—here we go!

We’re filming the show! Director V with the slate, and then cameramen Eric and Brandon!

Here’s what I made at LifeFood Organic—raw, vegan lasagna! Not bad for my first try, huh?? :)

Thought this was a cool behind-the-scenes shot to include. We headed out to Santa Monica early for our second day of shooting to capture some montage and intro footage. (FYI: I’m overlooking the beach and pier!)

My buddy Brian on sound capturing ambient noise at Santa Monica Pier. This shot just totally cracks me up—I think because of the randomness of it all. If you don’t see the rest of the crew, then it’s just a really bizarre event, right? Ha! Maybe it’s just me… :)

Brandon (far right) capturing a food demo at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. We definitely thought we’d get kicked out for going guerrilla style, but nope—got lots of great footage!

V checking out the Kale Shake at SunCafe—she’s a fan!! :)

Our final crew lunch was at Flore in Silver Lake. Excellent food and cameraman Cody LOVED his portabello mushroom tacos! (He even said he’d like to try and make ’em!! He joked he hadn’t eaten a vegetable in 6 months, so this is a nice WIN, haha! :)

Production-related! While picking up some healthy snacks for the crew, I ran into a couple friends at Trader Joe’s, and finally got to see their baby, Flynn!

And these are moments that make life utterly exciting: while filming at Union Station in LA, I heard someone call my name. I looked over and it’s my pal Jody going to catch a train! Neither of us had any idea we were here (we’re both nomads—in fact she’s a legal one!).

So cool to see her, and thrilled about her new book: The Food Traveler’s Handbook, all about how to find cheap, safe and delicious food anywhere in the world—check it out!! :)

See ya next week from somewhere else in the world!
