Moments of the Week – #15

A bunch of awesome moments from this week!

(have some of your own? to be featured in a future edition of MOW! :)

Another week in Los Angeles: raw food, hikes, and a wedding—here we go!

Totally RAW lunch at Sun Cafe in Universal City: the Kale Colossus and Sun Nachos (menu)! Yum!!

The Virtual Nutrition Triumvirate (Jess, Celena, and me—with baby Lily!): three souls committed to eating healthy and sharing online what we learn!

Was staying right by Griffith Park on a Sunday morning, so I decided to walk over for a hike! Here’s the entrance right on Los Feliz Blvd.

After my hike up, here’s the view from my meditation spot in front of the Griffith Park Observatory at the top of the hills!

And I’m not really a tourist anymore, but who doesn’t enjoy a shot with the “Hollywood” sign in the background (way in the distance)! :)

Later that same day, I walked over to Barnsdall Park and got this shot of both the “Hollywood” sign (on the left) and the Observatory (on the right)—cool to think I was up there just a few hours earlier!

Enjoyed another awesome view of LA (same day I hiked up Griffith and Barnsdall Parks!): this time of the downtown scene…

Helped out a friend by walking her dog, Bailey. Yes, he was very full of energy. Quite the happy pup.

Back to the LA theatre scene: front row for a reading of my pal Liz’s solo show “Take Me to the Poorhouse,” about her childhood of poverty in Nigeria. I saw this a couple years ago as a 10-minute piece (now an hour); SUCH an excellent work, SO PROUD of her, and really thrilled to see it continue to evolve!

In addition to my much-needed GREENS at Real Food Daily, I seriously considered drinking my chocolate pudding—to your health!

Got my spirituality fix and my Course in Miracles ON at Marianne Williamson’s weekly event on Wilshire Blvd. with my buddy Ben and his roommate Maria. Listening to Marianne live is one of my favorite things to do in LA, and afterward Ben, Maria, and I stopped at an old haunt of mine: Kate Mantilini!! :)

I even got to stop in and say hi to my trusty Santa Monica mechanics: the Wilsons! I went to them religiously for six years, then turned my brother onto ’em. That’s Rich on the left and his son John on the right.

Home cooked meal of VEGGIE TACOS! Sauteed zucchini, tomatoes, onions, jalapeno, chili powder and cayenne pepper; Chipotle guacamole (yes, I know the recipe); Jicama and Artichoke “chips”; fresh bell peppers; and romaine leaves for wraps!

More of the en*theos team: all in one place!! Hanging out with (l. to r.): Spencer (rock-star TA and UCLA student); Casey and John (married, and both part of the Wisdom Development Team)! LOVE these people—and the breakfast we had, at Hugo’s in West Hollywood!

John, Casey and I were all headed to a wedding for another member of the en*theos team—here I am on the bus out to Topanga Canyon. I have NO idea the last time I wore a tie, but I did remember how to tie it! ;)

At the wedding with the beautiful Beth, Martin Ucik (officiating, and an Integral teacher/writer), and Dave (en*theos‘ EVP of Everything!). So happy to be witness to the bliss… :)

1st course of the wedding dinner at Inn of the Seventh Ray—and it only got better! :)

My companion at table 6 for the wedding dinner: Alexis. I know—it’s a rough life… ;)
