Yeah, I like to dance.
In fact, I have a playlist on my iPod called Dance Party Mix—though I think it’d be great to bust this out at a party, it’s more for me: songs that I know get me moving and make me feel GOOD.
This list is particularly helpful when I’m feeling funky or off.
I still get pulled down into “Funkytown” (not the fun one) far more than I’d like, and I can use the reminder that DANCING is something that really grounds me—it gets me out of my head, relaxes me, releases endorphins and seratonin, and maybe—just maybe—gives me a nice workout.
Often, I’ll put this playlist on in the morning, to start my day with some kick-ass songs and awesome energy.
With the ones below, some are old, some are new. ALL are fun, have a great beat—and for the life of me, when they come on, I can’t not get up and MOVE!
Wherever I go, I always have these songs pretty close, and they are just another one of the things that keep me sane as I travel. Yup, good music is right up there with nutrition, exercise, and rest!
I love LOTS of songs out there, so this is only a small selection, but enough to get you onto your feet—yeah, that’s right: have a dance party wherever you are: cubicle, coffee shop, bedroom, school—GO FOR IT!! :)
Here are my Top 10…
