A bunch of awesome moments from this week!
Covering my recent two weeks in New York City—here we go!
And HEY: this is the 300th post! Thanks for being part of this, whether you’ve been here since the beginning or this is your first read. :)
One of my first roommates in Queens; fortunately, my sleeping quarters were a little larger.
Dinner at Friend of a Farmer—a great farm-to-table restaurant in Manhattan. Instead of an entree, we got 4 veggie sides (beet mashed potatoes, broccoli, spinach, and brussel sprouts) and everything was delicious!
My buddy Jacob and I enjoying the nice weather in the East Village.
Dinner with my friend Olivia at Siggy’s Good Food—a fellow Mass native, who also lived in LA, and is now acting in NY!
Olivia and I both made a new friend at dinner that night… :)
Yes, the weather was GORGEOUS while I was in town. Gotta love those blue skies (when you can see them past all the buildings)!
It’s a Quatro de Mayo celebration with my pals Nicky and Dan. Can you tell we had a good time? :)
Ran into my friend Michael on a subway platform (whom I hadn’t seen in 8 years!), and he invited me to closing night of his show, Signature Theatre’s Born with Teeth—a slight adaptation of Shakespeare’s Richard III. Ya gotta take in a show while in NY! :)
At my friend Rich’s place, he had to keep his Vitamix in the bedroom as this was the only grounded outlet. Small price to pay for blended goodness!
Seeing Iron Man 3 in 3D at the Director’s Guild Theatre in midtown! Really enjoyed the movie, even though the glasses were HUGE!
Met up with a friend for tea at a new favorite place, Hu Kitchen, in Union Square—super fresh food and lots of creative choices!!
Got a kick out of this sign at Hu Kitchen. Darn right it is! :)
Lovely afternoon at Bryant Park (behind the main branch of the NY Public Library) in midtown.
Thanks to Regus, I have access to wifi business lounges around the world; here’s one in Madison Square—not a bad view!
Made the no-bake brownies from my cookbook, and added a little bit of vanilla and cinnamon—great additions!
Not only was I outside the studio, I even went to a taping of The Daily Show. Jon is hilarious—so thrilled I did this! And so easy: get yours here. :)
After the taping, I strolled about 40 blocks along the water with Olivia—we even saw The Intrepid!
Some fun with Instagram-ing at Wild in the West Village—local ingredients and gluten-free pizza. Win-win!!
Final night in NY, and I stopped into Gingersnap Organic for some food and wifi—fun, raw restaurant in the East Village.
And here’s Gingersnap’s version of Ramen Noodles—pretty nice, eh? :)
See ya next week from somewhere else in the world!
