At the recent World Domination Summit, every attendee received a paperback copy of Chris Guillebeau’s latest book:
The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future.
In it, Chris profiles a number of individuals who, with a dream and a little bit of money, were able to become profitable doing something they enjoy.
Sounds awesome, right?
There’s also a ton of practical wisdom in the book, too—lots of how-to’s, what-to-avoid’s, and things-to-do’s. :)
I’ve been dipping into parts of this and very excited about what I’ve read thus far.
But of course, as I continue practicing minimalism, I must release this book back into the world (and pick up the Kindle version)! :)
What You’ll Learn:
- Where to Look to Find the Skills You Need
- Follow Your Passion…Maybe
- The One-Page Business Plan
- Creating a Killer Offer
- The New Demographics
- 25 Selected Case Studies (including detailed financials!)
- Rockstars from The $100 Startup
So who wants a copy?
Super easy—just answer these two questions in the comments below and I’ll choose a winner in one week!
1) What’s your startup idea that you’ve been *wanting* (waiting?) to do?
2) How would you spend your first $100 toward this idea/business?
Be as specific as possible with these—it’d be fun to see what you come up with, PLUS it’ll make it easy for you to follow-through: you’ll have your action items!
For more fun: check out the trailer for the book!

Don’t want to wait for the contest winner? Can’t blame ya! Grab the book on , Barnes & Noble, IndieBound, Chapters, and 800ceoread.
And if ya want a free copy of the book, how would you answer the two questions above?
I’d love to hear your response + any other thoughts you have below.
Looking forward to learning more!
###
1) Provide creative writing and poetry workshops to adults who want to tap into verse and their creativity.
2) I would use the $100 to buy a “day off” from my regular gigs to plan out long term how to launch this venture and take an intensive focused class at the en*theos Academy for Optimal Living. :)
LOVE this!! i totally think there are people out there (like ME!) who’d be interested in this kind of creative writing!
and the “anti-spending” idea of buying a day off is brilliant. (may have to borrow that one… ;)
as always, thanks Mo!!
1) I want to get my photography into the world via a professional website. I have been a passionate photographer, won awards, and had some photos published, but I have not yet gotten aboard the digital marketing.
2) I would use the $100 toward costs of setting up a splendid website and/or maintaining it as I get my work into the world.
awesome, Sally!
i’ve seen in my own work that the first step can sometimes be the most challenging. there are many tools out there to get a pretty decent site up and running for free, and you don’t even need to know code! :)
