Quality Time with… Michael, Ep. #10

As some may know, I spent about six weeks on Big Island in Hawaii, and all of that time was with Polestar Gardens, located near the eastern coast (also known as the “wet side” of the island).

The courageous and laughing leader of it all is Michael. He’s been living in intentional community, beginning with Ananda in Northern California, for much of his life and within the last five years, began this property in Hawaii. PG’s main focus is the spiritual path (one’s relationship with the mind), following the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, and another big part of the life there is MUSIC! We didn’t even touch on this in our chat below, but Michael is definitely in the zone when it comes to music, whether it’s playing the guitar, piano, harmonium – or singing!

As you’ll see, Michael is a true joy to be around – always looking at the light and bright side of life, while still focused on creating the most positive and supportive environment for people to grow and develop. I learned quite a bit about myself and the world around me during my time there. Enjoy the chat…

For more on Michael and his work:

  • Polestar Gardens: the community Michael founded and where I stayed for about six weeks – an amazing place on Big Island in Hawaii. It can be a wonderful place to recharge and to learn. If you’d even like to be PART of the community, you can apply right on their site! On the home page, you’ll see a video about their Raja Yoga program, and you’ll hear a bit more from Michael – any guesses who was behind the camera asking him questions…? ;-)

What did you enjoy, what did you learn, and what might you take action on as a result of the chat with Michael?

I’d love to hear your answers and any other comments you have below.
