Yes, I know it’s summer and here we are with a decidedly “fall” treat, but I came across a can of pumpkin this week and thought, “yup, I’m gonna blend this up!”
Trust me, you’ll want to run out and find the nearest pumpkin patch! (eyes out for !)
I also had the pleasure of picking cherries right off the tree in the front yard (oh, the humanity ;), and still had some cacao powder left over, even after two batches of no-bake brownies!
I tossed it all in…and it. was. GOOD! :)
The cacao powder and cherries added a great richness and sweetness. I’m totally on the pumpkin bandwagon!!
Because of the thickness (it’s kinda like a meal), I ended up having this in the afternoon as a snack. I do prefer the green smoothies in the morning, as I think it gives my body the right fuel to get going.
I just didn’t have the heart to add any greens to this one. :)

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Feeds: Makes 2 servings
Skill: Easy
Ingredients
2 cups pumpkin, canned or the real-deal!
1 banana
1 cup cherries, pitted
1 Tbsp cacao powder
1 Tbsp. allspice
12 oz. water or nut milk of your choice
Directions
Throw everything into a blender and mix until smooth. You may need more or less water, depending on the thickness of the pumpkin.
Chill and serve.
(As you refrigerate it, the smoothie may thicken a bit, but will thin out once brought to room temperature again.)
Enjoy!
