Welcome to Optimal Living On the Road!

It’s a new chapter…

Optimal Living on the Roadphoto/design: Gregory Berg

There’s reason to celebrate today, and with that, some fun changes ’round here! :)

First, some history…

It was exactly two years ago (on 10/10/10!) that during a journaling session, I landed on the phrase “Nonstop Awesomeness.”

I wasn’t trying to think up a name for a blog or a business; rather, I was attempting to find a way to describe to others the kind of feeling I had in my life.

At that time, the person I had become was very different than that of 3 years earlier—I was more open, more positive, and more adventurous!

I had just gotten rid of all my stuff and was about to head off on a one-way ticket to Hawaii—something I never had considered doing!

I was connecting with people on a deeper level than I had ever done, I was so enthusiastic about what I was doing, and I was handling the ups and downs of life with more humor and ease…

I was riding this wave of positive energy that never seemed to stop, and I didn’t think it had to.

If life feels really good at this moment, and I’m responsible for how I feel, then couldn’t I keep this proverbial party going??

Surely, there must be some way to describe this to others (because many people were asking what changed/happened)! :)

Turns out, there is:

I was never suggesting that my life (or anyone’s) is going to be a 24/7 dance party—of course crazy stuff is going to happen, along with the amazing things, too.

It’s about maintaining and operating at that higher level of energy—the one that draws the best out of you, and attracts others to you.

THAT is what I was hoping to continue in my life, and that is what I wanted to share with others: that as we evolve and grow, our lives can always be awesome as develop the tools to handle whatever life sends our way, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Happy Anniversary to Nonstop Awesomeness! :)

(You can read more about how my shift happened here.)

Optimal Living On the Road + COLORing

It was a little over a year ago that I adopted the tagline “The PRACTICE of Healthy Living and Full-Time Travel” because that’s where I was at.

Well, while I’m still committed to my practices, and I’m still a full-time traveler (btw, I think it’s cool the phrase “time traveler” is in there! ;), I wanted to expand the scope of this site.

I want others to have the kind of experience I’ve found while traveling.

I believe it’s possible to be healthy, positive, productive, engaged, focused, and awesome when you’re on the road!

All the values and ideals we have for our lives at home—there’s no reason to compromise when we travel. Being flexible, of course. But denying ourselves the things that allow us to thrive? No way!

So that leads to the new focus around here: Optimal Living On the Road

THIS is what I search for, and what I’m excited to share with everyone here.

To kick this off, I even created a new guide: 12 Ways to COLOR (Create Optimal Living On the Road)!

12 Ways to COLOR Guide

The guide contains a dozen of my favorite life lessons from the past two years as a nomad.

Plus—gorgeous photography and a handful of inspiring quotes—you may just get inspired to book a ticket today.

I think you’ll really dig it, and it’s available as a gift to all those who sign up!

Subscribe to Nonstop Awesomeness:

If you’re curious about the “5 Ways to Awesome Days” series, that will now be available in the Courses section of the site (the “Book a $5 Flight to Hawaii” will soon be joining it.)

Many of the projects I have in development are focused around this new mission: helping you experience an optimal life when you travel!

Not only the show, but ideas for other courses, blog posts, and more. Very exciting—and can’t wait to share! :)

New Design + Style

If you’re reading this via email, check out the site—THANK YOU to my buddy Gregory Berg for his excellent work on the new header image and the beach shot at the top of this post. (You can also hear fascinating conversations with Greg every Monday on Radio Enso!)

Shout out to Jessica Glendinning for her initial design concepts as well!

October 10th is also a bittersweet anniversary, as it’s Jeff’s birthday—honestly though, I’m kinda glad these two (momentous) events happened on this day! :)

There are days when I still can’t believe he’s gone. Definitely one of the greats, and deeply remembered.

Once you grab a copy of the guide, let us know –> anything else you’d add to Create an Optimal Life on the Road?? :)

I’d love to hear your response + any other thoughts you have below.

Looking forward to learning more!
